Today I’ll be taking a dive deep into the realm of disc golf stools. I’ll lay out their pros and cons, enabling you to make an informed choice and find the one that perfectly suits your style, needs, and, of course, your budget. So, whether you’re a seasoned disc golfer or just starting your disc-throwing adventures, stay tuned for an illuminating journey through the land of disc golf stool-dom.
Do You Really Need a Disc Golf Stool?
First things first, a disc golf stool can be a game-changer when it comes to your comfort and overall experience on the course. Picture this: you’ve been trekking through the woods to find that pesky disc that always fades right and the time comes to take a breather and strategize your next move. Suddenly, you have a sturdy and comfortable seat, giving your tired legs the respite they deserve – that’s what a disc golf stool does for you.
Beyond the obvious benefit of comfort, disc golf stools also offer practicality in terms of storage. The most popular stools are designed to be collapsible and lightweight so fit perfectly over your shoulder or in the side pocket of your bag.
Now, let’s address whether a disc golf stool is worth the money. Like with any purchase, it ultimately depends on your personal preferences and budget. If you’re an avid disc golfer who frequently spends hours on the course, buying a stool can really give you a better day on the course. Even if the course you play has benches (my local course doesn’t) it’s nice to have a clean, dry spot to sit down and take a breather. Plus you can get a solid stool for about the same price as a disc.
In the end, it’s all about finding the balance between practicality, convenience, and your own comfort level. So, weigh your options, consider your needs, and decide if a disc golf stool is a missing piece to your disc-flinging puzzle.
Best Disc Golf Stools
Innova Park and Fly Disc Golf Stool
Pros
Not to be confused with an airport parking service, the Innova Park and Fly is a solid all-around choice for most disc golfers. Infinite Discs, Discraft, and Dynamic Discs all have their own stools but they’re all essentially the exact same as this one from Innova. However, I’ve found that you can usually find the Innova stool for a better price than some of the other brands.
This stool has an all-aluminum tubular frame, so no rust here. It folds up small enough to slide in the water bottle pocket of your disc golf bag and folds out to be a 14-inch triangular seat.
The 600D polyester seat on the Innova disc golf tripod is rated for 250 lbs so you don’t have to worry about eating that extra donut. Overall, it’s a solid, lightweight stool that holds 250 lbs and is the best deal in disc golf seating since rocks were invented.
Cons
I feel like this stool could be slightly taller, but I’m also 6’4″ so take that with a grain of salt. Other than that – None.
My Opinion
The Innova Park and Fly stool is basically a rebranded Camp Time Stool, which is a pretty well-known brand in the camping/outdoor community. The interesting thing is that the Camp Time Stool sells for significantly more than the Innova stool. So, not only is this a great all-around deal, but Innova somehow managed to price them below the industry standard stool – well done!
Best Disc Golf Stool For…
Anyone looking for a solid disc golf stool who doesn’t mind paying a few more dollars for Innova branding.
Alps Mountaineering Stool
Pros
Anything that uses “mountaineering” in its name instantly sounds hardcore. Looking to play a round on the way up Mt Everest, eh? Good thing you brought along your mountaineering stool along!
In all seriousness though, this is one sturdy stool. The legs are made of powder-coated steel and the seat is made of 600D Polyester. It’s about the same size as the Innova Park and Fly when folded and unfolded. Plus it comes in about a dozen different colors if you’re the picky type.
Overall, it may not be specifically branded for disc golf, but it does the job at the same price point as a disc.
Cons
The strap should be longer. It’s long enough to put over one shoulder like a purse, but not quite long enough to put over your head and shoulder.
My Opinion
When I was a kid my family had one of these stools and I was always the one who got stuck with it at the soccer games. It was comfortable enough, but I was always envious of my older siblings with the recliner lawn chairs. However, it held up, and even after 20 years it’s still going strong!
Overall, if you’re looking for the best bang for your buck and don’t care about having an Innova-branded stool, this is your best option.

Anyone looking for the best quality budget stool.
The Walkstool Comfort
Pros
Walkstool is made in Sweden which is a country known for quality products (heard of the Swiss Army Knife anyone?). In fact, the Walkstool is the Swiss Army Knife of portable seating. It has adjustable legs, is super lightweight, and folds down to the size of a water bottle. Worried about weight capacity? Don’t be – this thing holds over 300 lbs!
The mesh seat on this stool is better than most. It’s breathable and dries quickly if it gets knocked over in wet grass.
Cons
This stool isn’t cheap and it’s not specifically branded for disc golf either. I’d love to see one of the big-name disc golf brands make a private-label Walkstool specifically targeted to the disc golf community.
My Opinion
Personally, this stool is out of my price range, but I think it’s a reasonable investment if you’re looking for one of the best stool options out there. If you’re playing longer rounds in tournaments or in large groups you’ll definitely get your money’s worth out of this stool.

Which Disc Golf Stool is the Best?
In conclusion, when it comes to the world of disc golf stools, there really is no “best choice”. They all provide a comfortable and stable seat, but they’re all geared for specific needs. Overall, the decision to invest in a disc golf stool ultimately depends on your personal preferences and budget.
If you want the best budget disc golf stool tripod, go with the Alps Mountaineering Stool. If you want the very best of the best, the Walkstool Comfort is the way to go; and for a good middle ground, choose the Innova Park and Fly Disc Golf Stool.
