Ken Burkholder by Ken Burkholder
Reading Time: 7 mins read

If you’re a disc golfer in the market for a new bag, you may be wondering if the Handeye Supply Co Mission Rig Bag is a good choice. With its impressive list of features and top-notch quality, it’s certainly a contender. But is it worth the price?

In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the Mission Rig and its features to help you decide if it’s the right bag for you. With three different design options and plenty of storage space for discs and other gear, this bag is definitely worth considering. Plus, with its top-notch quality and limited lifetime warranty, you can trust that it will last you for years to come. But let’s take a deeper dive into what makes the Mission Rig so special and if it’s the bag for you.

Handeye Mission Bag: The Rundown

The Handeye Supply Co Mission Rig Backpack is like the Swiss Army knife of disc golf bags. It’s got everything you need to take on the course and more. The bag can hold over 18 discs in its large main compartment and even has a removable disc divider to keep things organized.

Plus, there’s a huge upper storage compartment for jackets, towels, and whatever else you need. And let’s not forget about all the pockets – exterior towel clips, mesh pouches for valuables, and large exterior and medium-sized accessory pockets. It’s like having a portable locker room!

The bag’s reinforced feet and water-resistant bottom make sure it stands upright and dry, while the padded back and shoulder straps ensure you’re comfortable during long rounds.

Handeye Mission Bag: Review

The Mission Rig Bag is Handeye’s first “big bag,” and the company is thrilled with how it turned out. They say it boasts everything that most disc golf bags have and do, but with some added features that set it apart from the rest. Let’s see if that’s true!

Durability

The Handeye Mission Rig Bag is definitely built to last. The bag is made with high-quality materials that are designed to withstand the rigors of disc golf. The exterior of the bag is constructed with heavy-duty nylon that is both water-resistant and durable. This means that you can take the bag out in any weather condition without worrying about your discs and other belongings getting wet.

The bag’s bottom is reinforced with a waterproof material that provides extra protection against moisture and ensures that the bag stays upright even on uneven terrain. The zippers are also sturdy and have easy-to-grab zipper handles that make it easy to access your belongings. The bag’s feet are also reinforced, ensuring that it stays upright and doesn’t tip over.

Overall, the Handeye Mission Rig Bag is designed to withstand the test of time. It’s high-quality materials and sturdy construction makes it a great investment for any disc golfer who wants a bag that will last for years to come.

Comfort

The Handeye Mission Rig Bag isn’t only durable but also comfortable to use and wear around the disc golf course. The bag’s shoulder straps and back are padded, providing extra cushioning and support. This feature helps reduce fatigue, especially during long rounds, making it easier to carry the bag for extended periods.

The shoulder straps are also adjustable, ensuring that the bag fits comfortably on your back, regardless of your body type. The bag’s weight is evenly distributed across your back, reducing strain on your shoulders and back. This is particularly important if you plan to carry the bag for several hours during a round.

The bag’s opening flap features a quick-access space for your favorite disc, making it easy to reach without having to take off the bag. This feature also means that you can quickly grab your favorite disc and take a shot without having to rummage through the entire bag.

Features

The Handeye Supply Co Mission Rig Backpack is loaded with features, making it one of the most versatile bags on the market. The bag comes in three different design options to choose from. The bag’s large main disc compartment can hold up to 18+ discs, while the upper storage compartment is perfect for storing extra discs, multiple jackets, towels, and more. Additionally, there is a zip-up putter pouch above the straps for easy access or additional storage.

The bag’s removable lightweight disc divider located inside the main disc compartment is a unique feature. It allows you to keep your discs organized and easily accessible.

The exterior of the bag features PVC Handeye Supply Co patches, a large drawstring water bottle holder, towel clips, and two large exterior pockets for more discs or large items. There are also three medium exterior accessory pockets and two interior mesh pouches to secure valuables.

The bag’s opening flap features space for quick access to your favorite disc, and Velcro tabs keep the opening flap clear of discs for easy access. The padded back and shoulder straps provide comfort while carrying. The bag’s reinforced feet and water-resistant bottom keep your bag upright and dry, even in damp conditions. The exterior mesh and canvas pockets are perfect for pencils, scorecards, mini disc markers, and more.

Handeye Mission Bag: Potential Cons

While I don’t have any big cons to point out, there are a couple of ways Handeye could improve on this bag.

The main gripe I have is that the backpack lacks a waist belt. For a bag this size, I think it would be a plus to at least have the option for the waist belt. As anyone who has done any hiking or backpacking will tell you, a waist belt can really help take the load off your shoulders.

As mentioned above, another issue is the weight of the bag. At five pounds, it’s not the lightest option on the market (check out the Squatch Legend if you’re concerned about weight), which can be a concern for those who prefer to travel light. But, that might just be the tradeoff for carrying such a large bag.

Another potential downside is the lack of a rain cover, which means that the bag isn’t fully waterproof. If you’re caught in a heavy downpour, your discs and other belongings could get wet. Now, I’m sure you could find a rain cover that would work, but it would be nice if Handeye offered one with the bag.

Worth the Price?

The Handeye Mission Rig Bag is definitely worth the price for any serious disc golf player. Its durability, comfort, and wide range of features make it a good investment for those who want to carry all their essential disc golf equipment and need a large bag like this.

Although it does have a few minor cons, I would say they are outweighed by the positive aspects of the bag. If Handeye Supply Co were to improve upon the bag, they could perhaps make the bag slightly lighter or add a waist belt. However, overall, the Mission Rig Bag is an exceptional product that will not disappoint. It’s clear that a lot of time, effort, and care went into its design and production, and the end result is a high-quality disc golf bag that can handle whatever you throw at it.
